“It’s a Shame I Didn’t Get the Third” Antony Delivers a Masterclass as Betis Beat Mallorca 3-0

Antony is back with a bang and playing with heart. The former Manchester United winger scored two goals and gave one assist in Real Betis vs Mallorca 3-0 win at the Estadio Benito Villamarín. With this win, Betis move close to the top four in the La Liga table and fans can’t get enough of Antony’s passion and form.

Antony’s Brilliance in the First Half

Antony was on fire in the first 45 minutes:

  • 10th minute – Antony scored from outside the box with a left-footed drive.
  • 34th minute – He doubled the lead with another brilliant strike.
  • 37th minute – He set up Abde Ezzalzouli for the third goal.

It was all Betis in the first half. They controlled the game, pressed high, and hardly gave Mallorca any space. By the 37th minute, the match was almost over. Betis had nine shots on target in the game, Mallorca had just one.

“It’s a Bummer I Didn’t Get That Hat Trick” Antony on Missing Out

After the match, Antony had a lot to say – and he sounded pretty emotional about it. He was really happy with the way the game had gone, and felt pretty good about his own performance. But he couldn’t help but let out a bit of frustration that he hadn’t managed to get that third goal.

“We’re really happy about the two goals and the assist, I have to say. But yeah, I’m a little bit disappointed that I didn’t get the hat trick,” Antony said with a laugh. “But at the end of the day, the three points is what matters most.”

He’d had another chance to get that hat trick in the second half – a pretty clear shot at goal, if you ask me. But Mallorca’s Lucas Bergström had other ideas, and managed to get his hands on the ball with his fingertips. Antony credited the goalkeeper with a pretty good save.

“He made a great stop, that’s for sure. I had the space to shoot, but he just managed to get a hand on it,” Antony added.

I’m at Home

Antony is just over the moon about how he’s feeling right now, though. When he was talking about how much he loves it at Real Betis, you could almost see the passion in his eyes.

“I’m really, really happy to be here. It feels like home to me. I give everything I have on the pitch for these fans, and I love that,” he said with a big grin.

This is actually Antony’s second stint with Betis, but this time it’s permanent he signed a five-year deal back in the summer of 2025. He’s been with them ever since, and it’s given him a fresh start, if you know what I mean.

The Hard Work Behind the Striking Form

Now, you might be thinking Antony is just getting lucky, but don’t believe it. He says it’s all about hard work, and credits his training for his recent form.

“I’m practicing my finishing all the time, every single day. It’s not just luck, it’s about doing the work and putting in the hours,” he said with conviction.

And the numbers back him up, too:

  • 4 goals in the last 3 La Liga games
  • 1 goal and 1 assist in the Europa League this season

Betis Keeping in Touch with the Top 4

Needless to say, this win was a big one for Real Betis. They’re now in 5th place with 19 points from 11 games, which puts them:

  • just 3 points behind Atlético Madrid (4th)
  • 4 points off the pace of Villarreal (3rd)

You could tell they were hurting from that loss to Atlético last week, but this win shows they’re not giving up the ghost just yet.

“We’ll just keep going, one match at a time,” Antony said with a shrug.

What’s Next for Betis?

Real Betis are now fighting on two fronts La Liga and the Europa League. And if Antony keeps up this kind of form, they’ve got a real shot at getting into the Champions League spots this season.

The fans are loving every minute of it, and so is Antony. He’s smiling, scoring, and just generally giving his all on the pitch. His heart belongs to Betis, no question.

Conclusion, Real Betis vs Mallorca 3-0

Betis just turned in a commanding performance in their 3-0 win over Mallorca. From start to finish, they were in the driving seat, creating chances and showing that they’re a force to be reckoned with at home. This result says it all they’re not just good at scoring goals, but they’re also getting better at keeping clean sheets.

This win sends a strong message to the rest of La Liga Betis mean business, and they’re not afraid to go out there and give it their all. With their teamwork and discipline really starting to come together, I reckon they’re in with a real shot of making a splash in the league table.
